THIEF Gary Thompson has been jailed.

The 34-year-old, of Outram Road, Southsea, admitted stealing meat from Sainsbury’s in Southsea and two bottles of spirits from Waitrose in Southsea.

He also admitted stealing baby milk from a Southsea Co-op and assaulting a police officer.

Thompson pleaded guilty to failing to observe a curfew after being arrested for breaking bail conditions.

The crimes were committed between May 22 and August 27.

Thompson was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

No order for compensation was made.
