SERIAL thief James Wood has been told to pay compensation.

Wood, 29, of Tichborne Way, Gosport admitted stealing £40 of steak and ham worth £25 in two separate thefts from the Co-op in Forton Road, Gosport.

He admitted stealing £30.40 of meat from a Gosport Co-op on another occasion. The thefts took place between April 2 and 7.

He was ordered to have six months of treatment for drug dependency and put under supervision for nine months.

Wood was told to pay £95.40 compensation and a £60 victim surcharge.
