SEVEN cars and a house were damaged when a suspected drink driver crashed his vehicle in the middle of the night.
Police were first called at 11.30pm last night to reports a car was being driven dangerously in Fort Cumberland Road, Eastney. A short while later a Kia hit seven vehicles in Gibraltar Road before crashing into the front porch of a house.
The driver then left the vehicle and staggered into another porch where he collapsed unconscious.
An ambulance was called and the man was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham where he was treated for head injuries. A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed a 66-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through drink and drugs.
