A MAN has appeared in court after six people were found hidden in a vehicle.

Tudor Galos, 29, of Floresti, Romania, appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He is charged with concealing six illegal entrants in a purpose-built hide within his vehicle, which facilitated the commission of a breach of immigration law.

The offence is alleged to have happened in Portsmouth on December 22 and Galos appeared before city magistrates on Christmas Eve.

He also faces a charge of having in his possession or under his control an identity document – a false Danish driving licence – in his name.

Galos also faces the same charge but in relation to an allegedly false Netherlands national identity card.

He was remanded into custody and is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on January 25.

No pleas were entered at the hearing.

The first charge is alleged to have facilitated the six non-European Union citizens, with Galos knowing or having reasonable cause for believing the act facilitated the commission of a breach of immigration law and that he was not a citizen of the European Union.
