MOTORIST Darren Holdsworth was caught driving while twice the legal alcohol limit.

The 30-year-old had denied driving a Ford Mondeo in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea, after drinking too much.

But he was found guilty by Portsmouth magistrates.

A test revealed his breath contained 81 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Holdsworth, from Lumsden Road, Southsea, was told to pay £1,015 and banned from driving for 17 months.

However the ban could be reduced by four months on the condition that he pays up to £250 to complete a driving course by July next year.
