Southsea flat burglary sparks appeal for witnesses

ELECTRICAL goods were stolen in a burglary at a flat on a busy road.

Thieves fled the second floor property in Elm Grove, Southsea, with two TVs, a Samsung laptop and a Sony Ericsson mobile phone.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information about the burglary to get in touch.

Det Con Charlie Cox is investigating.

He said: ‘This burglary took place at a time of day when there would have been a large number of people making use of the restaurants and bars nearby.

‘If you were near the alleyway next to Woks Wong in Elm Grove on Friday night and saw people carrying goods, particularly TVs, please contact police.

‘I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people to keep doors and windows locked when you are not at home.’

Police believe the burglary took place between 4.30pm on Friday and Midnight on Saturday.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact CID at Fratton police station on 101.
