Southsea man to appear in court over terrorism charge

A man from Southsea is to appear in court after being charged with being involved in terrorist activity.

Mustakim Jaman, 23, of Hudson Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, was charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – which relates to the preparation of terrorist acts.

He was arrested as part of a number of warrants executed across Hampshire and London by officers from the South East Counter Terrorism Unit (SECTU) on Tuesday, October 14.

Jaman was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
