A MAN stole Angel Delight, ice cream and laundry detergent in Southsea while drunk.

Aidan Hurst, 36, of Horatia House in Meriden Street, Southsea, stole the items totalling £8.58 three days before a six-month conditional discharge was due to expire.

Because of this, Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court viewed his crime more seriously.

Hurst pleaded guilty to theft from Morrisons in Elm Grove.

He was fined £75, told to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
