A DRINK-driver who drove his lorry the wrong way round a busy roundabout has been fined and banned from the road.

Romeo Moldovanu, 46, pleaded guilty to driving his Volvo lorry at Rudmore roundabout at the bottom of the M275 in Portsmouth after drinking too much at about 10.15pm on August 16.

A test revealed he was almost twice the legal alcohol limit. His breath contained 70 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Moldovanu was fined £200 and banned from driving for 18 months by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was told to pay £85 in costs and £15 to a fund for crime victims.

Moldovanu, from Spain, was ordered to stay in court until the session ended.
