Suspected arson incident in Waterlooville causes £50,000 of damage

A CAR was stolen from a village and then found burned-out at a remote rural location.

The silver Vauxhall Tigra was stolen from outside a home in The Street, Itchenor, near Chichester.

Thieves are then believed to have driven it several miles before setting it on fire in Stoney Lane, Earnley, near Chichester, at 3am on Sunday, November 13.

Firefighters were called to put out the flames.

Detectives say it was stolen sometime between the Sunday and the previous Friday afternoon.

Police are treating the incident as theft and arson.
