PSYCHOLOGY students from the University of Chichester have been on a tour of HMP Grendon in Buckinghamshire.

Dr Roy Spina organised the day to see how such a tour would affect students wanting to develop a career in rehabilitating offenders.

Research indicates that by allowing students to experience careers, they make better choices, leading to them being happier in their work.

Dr Spina said: ‘The criminal justice system will benefit from committed workers, which would then impact on criminals in their rehabilitation process. The ripple effects should then spread to society as whole, via reduced recidivism rates.’
