A SUSPECTED loan shark arrested in a raid on his home has been released on bail.

The suspect’s home in Buckland, Portsmouth, was searched by about six officers from the trading standards’ south east illegal money lending team at about 7.30am on Wednesday.

The officers seized documents.

They arrested a 69-year-old man at the house.

He was questioned on suspicion of illegally lending money.

The inquiry centres around the lending of money to care workers at a Southsea care home over a 10-year period.

The warrant was executed by Hampshire police in partnership with Portsmouth City Council under the Consumer Credit Act.

The suspect was questioned but later released on bail.
