A MAN who approached a 13-year-old schoolgirl is being hunted by police.

The teenager had been walking with two friends in Fawcett Road, Southsea, and had left them to continue her journey home when the man went up to her in Orchard Road.

She felt uncomfortable and ran away at about 3.10pm on Tuesday.

PC Stephen Wroe said: ‘This happened in broad daylight near to a school. The area of Fawcett Road would have been busy at this time of day. Anyone who may have seen what happened, or may have seen the man or the girl before or after the incident should contact us.’

The man is described as being aged in his 30s, 5ft 9in tall, with an English accent and scruffy appearance.

He wore a plain, black hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe on and white trainers.

Call PC Wroe on 101.
