A TEENAGER who assaulted a police officer has been ordered to pay compensation.

Stuart Chapman, of Locks Heath Park Road, Locks Heath, pleaded guilty to committing the crime in the town on December 19.

The 19-year old was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

He was told to pay £15 to a fund for victims of crime by Fareham magistrates.

Chapman must pay £35 in court costs.
