A TEENAGER was punched in the face by a thief trying to steal his mum’s car.

The 19-year-old was arriving at his home in Ellachie Gardens, Alverstoke, when he spotted someone in the car.

When he pulled the man out of the vehicle, which was parked on a driveway, the thief punched him.

The teenager was left with swelling to his right eye.

The suspect and a second man who was waiting nearby both escaped on bicycles.

One of them was white, aged between 16 and 19 years old and around 5ft 11ins tall.

He was clean shaven and wore an orange-striped top with a dark zip-up jacket and was riding a dark-coloured mountain bike.

The second man was white, slim and around 6ft 1ins.

He wore a light grey hooded top with blue jeans and grey trainers.

PC Philip Hall, from Fareham police station, said: ‘At the time, there would have been a few people in the area around Alverstoke, including the nearby cycle path.

‘Did you see anyone acting in a suspicious manner who matches the suspects’ descriptions?’
