A MAN suffered a bleed on the brain after he was assaulted and knocked unconscious.

The 18-year-old from Waterlooville fell over when he was attacked in Edinburgh Road, Landport, at 3.15am on March 21.

He hit his head on the road and blacked out for several minutes, suffering a fractured skull, a minor bleed on the brain and concussion.

Detective Constable Steve Bourne said: ‘This area would have been very busy at this time of night as a number of people were leaving nearby club Liquid.

‘We would appeal to anyone who may have seen what happened or has any information which might help us identify the person responsible to contact us directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers.’

The teenager was treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham and is now recovering at home.

Police said the attacker was white, in his mid-20s, about 5ft 6in and had blond hair.

The attacker was wearing blue jeans and a green T-shirt with a symbol on the front.

A spokesman added: ‘Anyone with information should contact Det Con Bourne in the Eastern Investigation Team at Fratton police station on 101.

‘Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.’
