A THIEF caught stealing while subject to a community order for eight counts of thefts and handling stolen goods has been spared jail.

Clinton Holley, 33, of Penhale Road, Portsmouth, admitted stealing five pork loins worth £19.75 from a Farm Foods store in Fratton Road, Fratton, Portsmouth, on February 10.

The community order had been imposed less than a week earlier.

He was sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended for a year and told to pay an £80 victim surcharge by Portsmouth magistrates.
