A MAN who stole a charity collection box has been jailed.

John Pilmour took the money from Boots in Palmerston Road, Southsea.

The 46-year-old, of Kingston Road, Buckland, admitted theft at city magistrates.

He also admitted stealing three bottles of Jack Daniels from Marks & Spencer in Commercial Road, meat from nearby Sainsbury’s and cheese from the Co-op in Great Southsea Street. He also took four bottles of whisky from Aldi in Gamble Road, Buckland, Portsmouth. He was jailed for 180 days.
