A THIEF who broke into a house came back hours later to steal the victim’s car.

Police say a brick was thrown through a side window of the house in Paxton Road, Fareham, to get in.

A set of keys to a silver Ford Ka was then stolen from inside the home between 3.30am and 4am last Thursday.

The burglar fled but came back at between 6.15am to 6.45am to steal the car from the driveway.

PC Matt Morgan said: ‘This is an unusual incident as the offender has returned to the address to steal the car.

‘I would advise that car keys and house keys are stored out of sight, not in the hall or on the kitchen side where there is easy access in the event of a burglary.

‘We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the stolen vehicle to contact us, as it may have been abandoned locally.’

Anyone with information should contact PC Morgan at Fareham police station on 101.
