A THIEF who stole charity cash from a bar has been told to do unpaid work.

Matthew John Bell, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing £60 that was meant to be given to a charity from Madeline’s in Forton Road, Gosport, on January 27.

Fareham magistrates ordered Bell to pay £60 compensation and £40 in court costs.

The 21-year-old was also ordered to do 40 hours of unpaid work in the next year.
