Crackdown as police use undercover cyclist to catch ‘close pass’ drivers

A BURGLAR climbed through the open window of a flat and stole a jacket from inside.

Police are appealing for information after the theft in Franklin Road, Gosport.

The thief got in through an open window and stole a jacket containing money and a set of car keys from the hallway.

It happened between 11pm on Saturday and 6.45am on Sunday.

PC Nicki Wisdom, from Gosport police station, said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident.

‘This is a quiet residential street and this incident is rare for the area.

‘I am hopeful someone will have seen or heard something that appeared unusual.

‘I’d also like to advise homeowners to double-check their windows and doors are locked and the keys have been removed, even if only popping out for a few minutes, sleeping upstairs or enjoying the sun in the back garden.’

Anyone with information about the burglary should call PC Wisdom at Gosport police station on 101.
