SERIAL thief Andrew Lewis has been ordered to get help for his drug addiction.

The 23-year-old, of Stoke Road, Gosport, admitted committing a string of crimes between February 23 and March 23.

He stole meat, coffee and cleaning products worth £261.74 from a Co-op in Lee-on-the-Solent.

He also took cheese from a Gosport Co-op and admitted failing to surrender to custody.

Lewis admitted stealing meat worth £52.39 from Waitrose in Gosport and to damaging a lock at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, while subject to a conditional discharge. He was told to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Lewis was told to have six months of treatment for drug dependency and put under supervision for nine months.

He was told to pay £170 compensation.
