A PROLIFIC thief has been jailed for two weeks.

Paul Harris already had a string of previous convictions for thefts before he was caught after his latest string of offences.

The 33-year-old stole £90 worth of goods from the Co-op in Copnor Road, Copnor, on August 29.

Then, on October 2, he stole £110 worth of bacon and cheese from the Co-op in Palmerston Road, Southsea.

Two days later he took two perfume box sets, worth £80, from Superdrug in Arundel Street, Landport.

Harris, of Waverley Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to three counts of theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard he had a history of offending and committed the three offences while he was subject to a custodial sentence.

The magistrates said they had taken his early guilty pleas in consideration when deciding upon the sentence.
