Thieves force closure of Southsea cafe for '˜foreseeable future'

BURGLARS have forced the closure of a popular breakfast restaurant.

Jam and Bowler, in Victoria Road South, Southsea, was targeted by thieves who stole £150 in cash.

They broke in through a rear window some time between 1pm on Sunday and 8.30am on Tuesday.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said the incident was reported on Tuesday.

Posting on Facebook, restaurant staff said: ‘Due to a break in on the early hours of Monday morning J&B will be closed for the foreseeable future.

‘Although nothing of great value was taken, the damage they caused to our shop has forced us to close. Sorry for any inconvenience.’
