A HANDBAG was stolen from a woman while she was gardening at home.

The 80-year-old woman was in the front garden of her home in Peel Road, Gosport, when thieves got into her house through a back conservatory door.

A tan brown Marks & Spencer bag with a bronze-coloured buckle was stolen from inside.

The burglary took place between 11.30am and 1.30pm on March 15.

It is thought the burglars climbed over a back garden wall to reach the conservatory doors.

The stolen bag has a central zip and a flap over a side pocket.

Inside was a red leather purse with £80 in cash, bank cards and a diary.

It also contained a blue Nokia 2310 mobile phone.

The burglars are thought to have escaped through the same door they entered by.
