MAGISTRATES have fined a motorist for driving without a valid licence.

Gordon Garin, 47, admitted committing the offence while driving a Renault Laguna in Flint Street, Southsea, where he also lives.

Garin was fined £80 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £35 in costs to Hampshire Police Authority.

Fareham magistrates added three penalty points to his driving licence.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, another motorist has been fined for driving without insurance or a valid licence.

Riaan Rensburg, 23, of Cams Hill, Fareham, committed the offences while driving a Citroen Xsara in Mill Lane, Fareham.

Fareham magistrates found the case against Rensburg proved in his absence.

He was fined £250 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 costs to Hampshire Police Authority.

Six penalty points were added to his driving licence.

Elsewhere, in a third unrelated incident, motorist Eliott Kite has been fined for driving without insurance.

Kite, 25, of Wisborough Road, Southsea, committed the offence while driving a Vauxhall Corsa in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea.

Fareham magistrates found the case against Kite proved in his absence.

He was fined £200 and told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 worth of costs to Hampshire Police Authority.

Six penalty points were added to his driving licence.

Magistrates also found a charge of driving the car without a valid licence against Kite proved in his absence.

However no separate penalty was imposed for this offence.
