A WOMAN was assaulted by an attacker who tried to grab her when she refused a lift.

The victim, 31, was walking in Manor Road, Hayling Island, carrying a suitcase when a Vauxhall Vectra with three men in it pulled up alongside her and offered her a lift.

When she declined, the car drove off but returned a few minutes later.

The driver and passenger got out of the car and asked her again if she wanted a lift. When she refused, one of the men tried to grab the woman and she fell into a bush.

The car drove off and the woman ran to a hotel to get help. During the incident the victim dropped a wallet containing a TV Licence and an Oyster card for the London Underground. Now police are appealing for information about the attack, which happened between 11.50pm on Friday and 12.10am on Saturday. Call police on 101.
