LEARNER driver Steven Jarvis has been banned from the roads after being caught over the limit.

Jarvis pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle in Southampton Road, Titchfield, after drinking too much on December 4.

A test revealed his breath contained 45 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres.

The legal limit is 35mg.

Jarvis, 39, of Fontley Road, Titchfield, was fined £400 by Fareham magastrates.

He was also told to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims and £85 in court costs.

Jarvis, who only has a provisional licence, was banned from driving for three years.

He also admitted driving the vehicle without insurance and taking it without the owner’s consent.

And he pleaded guilty to driving without anyone else in the vehicle and without displaying any ‘L’ plates.

However, no separate penalties were imposed for the other offences.
