THIEF Anthony Wotton has been ordered to pay compensation.

The 21-year-old, from Southampton Road, Titchfield, pleaded guilty to stealing a crate of alcohol from a Co-op store in Warsash Road, Southampton, on February 13.

It was not said how much the alcohol that was stolen was worth.

He also admitted committing the crime while subject to a 10-month conditional discharge.

Wotton was ordered to pay £58.50 in compensation to the store by Fareham magistrates.

He must also pay £340 in court costs.

Magistrates decided not to take action on Wotton’s breach of the conditional discharge.
