A COUPLE are to go on trial after an alleged incident when the city council repossessed the Arts Lodge.

Mark Lewis, 48, and Alison Brett, 51, both of Clarence Parade, Southsea, have previously appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Now magistrates have set a two-day trial for June 7 and 8 at the same court.

It comes after an alleged incident when the city council repossessed the Arts Lodge in Victoria Park in February.

Lewis ran Art and Soul Traders, which ran the centre.

He is charged with two assaults on a constable, and using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke violence on February 7. Brett denies one charge of assaulting a PC. Lewis denies the charges against him.
