A MAN who stole a 42in television from a supermarket and then tried to do the same again the next day is being hunted by police.

An appeal was launched by Crimestoppers yesterday to find the shoplifter who took the LG television from Asda supermarket, in Speedfields Park, Fareham.

The man picked up the TV from the display in the electrical section in Asda on April 28 and then tried again the following day.

He was seen to go straight to the electrical section, pick up a 42in television and then carry it out of the store making no attempt to pay.

The following morning at 8.10am, the man returned to the store and again picked up a television from the display placing it into a trolley – this time a Polaroid 50in model.

He wheeled it out of the store and when staff challenged him, he abandoned the trolley and ran off.

Police have now issued a CCTV image of a man they want to talk to.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting reference 44150143328.
