TWO men were arrested after a man was robbed of his mountain bike.

The 19-year-old and 20-year-old men, both from Portsmouth, were quizzed by police investigating the incident, which happened in Station Street, Landport, Portsmouth.

A 21-year-old man was approached by two men between Portsmouth & Southsea station and Slindon Street between 5.20pm and 5.40pm on November 1.

One demanded he hand over his dark blue Jeep mountain bike. The cyclist was threatened and feared for his safety so he gave the bike up.

Detective Constable Julie Way said: ‘This was an extremely busy time of day as people were leaving work to return home and it is likely that someone witnessed this robbery.

‘Fortunately, although threats of violence were made to the victim, these were not carried out but he was intimidated enough to part with his bike.’

The two suspects were later bailed pending further inquiries. Call Det Con Way on 101.
