Two men were left with serious injuries after an attack by a gang of young men on Southsea Common.

It happened at around 7pm on Saturday, when a group of young men approached and attacked the two victims.

The first victim, a 40-year-old man, received injuries to his face.

The second victim, a 21-year-old man, received injuries to his ribs.

They received treatment in hospital.

PC Lucy Allan, the investigating officer, said: ‘At the time of the incident, Southsea seafront and Southsea Common were very busy with groups of people and families enjoying the weather.

‘I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this disorder to come forward.’
