TWO men have been jailed after 35 windows were smashed along the A272.

Damage was caused to vehicles and buildings with stones and other similar objects, such as ball bearings, along the A272 between Petersfield and Winchester between June and September last year.

Alec Hammerton, 43, of Fieldmere Close, Witney in Oxfordshire, and 44-year-old Damon Jennings of Manorfields Road in Milton Keynes were both charged with conspiracy to damage or destroy property.

They pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court January 6 for conspiring to commit criminal damage.

On Thursday, they were each sentenced to eight months in prison.

Police staff investigator Karen Slade thanked the victims for their assistance during the investigation.
