POLICE shut a busy dual carriageway following a two-vehicle crash.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary and Sussex Police were called to the A27 eastbound three miles east of Emsworth at the Southbourne junction after a Mondeo and a van collided.
The van then flipped over at about 3.15pm today.
The carriageway was shut as well as the on-slip road at Emsworth while the emergency services worked at the scene.
Traffic was diverted back down the slip road in order the clear the road.
Sussex Police say the woman driver of the Mondeo was medically trapped in the car . It is not known is she or the van driver are seriously hurt.
Two vehicles collided in the opposite carriageway near the crash scene as well.
Traffic ground to a halt as police worked on clearing the scene.
Hampshire Constabulary officers had left the scene by 4.30pm.
