A MANHUNT has been launched after a pensioner was punched in the stomach while walking her dog.

The 76-year-old woman was in Canal Walk, Landport, at around 9am on Wednesday.

She was approached by a man in his 20s who punched her in the stomach, winding her, making her to drop to one knee.

The attacker, white, with short mousy brown hair and about 6ft tall, then walked off in the opposite direction.

Police said the pensioner suffered bruising to her stomach but did not require hospital treatment.

Sgt Richard Holland said: ‘This was an unprovoked attack that left this woman with bruising to her stomach.

‘We know that it is highly likely that there would have been other people in the area at the time of this incident so we are appealing to anyone who saw this happen or who saw a man matching this description in the area to contact us.’

The man was wearing trousers and a grey top. Call 101.
