A POMPEY fan who went missing while in France watching the Euro 2016 tournament has been found, friends have confirmed.
Kane Leslie, 24, of Milton, Portsmouth, was reported missing to French police on Sunday afternoon.
He was last seen posing outside a bar with a Pompey Loyal flag in the background, and concerned friends posted up the last picture posted of him in the hope he would be found.
It’s believed he had been planning on going to the beach for a nap, but hadn’t been seen since leaving a venue called Mama Bakers.
But now close friends say he has posted a message on Facebook from an internet cafe in Nice to say he is okay – but had been set upon by thugs and had his phone and wallet stolen.
Portsmouth publican Steve Hudson said: ‘Apparently he had been set upon, and has his wallet stolen and managed to make his way to an internet cafe in Nice and put a message out on Facebook to safe he is safe.
‘So we are trying to contact him now.’
Mr Hudson said Mr Leslie is a popular character who pops in to the The Shepherds Crook and The Milton Arms regularly.
He said: ‘He is a really nice, happy go lucky lad.
‘He loves Pompey and he’s always at their matches.’
