Police say that they are treating the death of a man as ‘suspicious’

The force has released a statement which says it was called to a house in Waverley Road at 12.35am today after a man’s body was discovered.

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘The man’s death is being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.’

Anyone with information should call the major crime team at Fratton on 101 quoting Operation Turtle.

Kristina Demjanova, 36, of Francis Avenue, Southsea, was walking by the house this afternoon.

She said: ‘It’s scary. It makes you think it’s not really a safe place to live.’
