A VAN driver was subjected to a violent road-side robbery on a roundabout.

The 25-year-old man was driving along Dell Piece West, near Morrison’s in Horndean, at about 12.55pm today when a dark blue car pulled over in front of him, forcing him to stop his white van.

The passenger of the car got out and demanded cash.

When the man refused, he was punched.

The victim handed over the cash he had in his wallet and the car made a getaway towards the A3.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene and the man, who lives in Waterlooville, was treated for minor injuries.

The attacker was described as white, about 5ft 8in tall, chubby, and in his late 20s to early 30s. Call police on 101.
