POLICE officers are appealing for witnesses to a violent robbery on a teenager.

A 19-year-old man was walking along the Rudmore roundabout subway, in Portsmouth, when he was attacked.

The robber stole £200 in cash before running out of the subway towards Buckland.

The victim, from Portsmouth, received minor injuries to his neck and throat during the attack between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on Tuesday.

The suspect was a white 17-year-old male with dark hair and was wearing a short- sleeved blue jacket.

Detective Constable Pete Bambury of Portsmouth CID said: ‘We know this subway and area is used by people as a cut-through near the motorway.

‘I’m also aware that there were several members of the public on the roundabout at the time this robbery took place. It’s these people I really need to speak to. They’re not suspected of being involved in any crime but could be key witnesses.’
