TWO attackers violently assaulted a man outside a pub in Portsmouth.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the victim left the Derby Tavern, on Stamshaw Road, and was assaulted in what is thought to be an unprovoked attack.

He was punched and pushed to the ground before being repeatedly kicked in the body and face.

He was taken to hospital where he received medical treatment for his injuries.

Investigating Officer, Det Con Matthew Gamblen said: ‘This is a nasty unprovoked attacked on a man going about his own business.

‘I would appeal to anyone who may remember this incident or has information about the men involved to contact me.’

The incident occurred on May 2, just after midnight.
