A JEWELLERY store in Whiteley was broken into in the early hours of this morning.

Police are investigating the burglary at Beaverbrook’s jeweller, in Whiteley shopping centre.

A window was smashed using heavy duty tools and a number of Tag Heuer watches were removed from the display.

A Mercedes estate vehicle was used during the burglary and it is believed to have been stolen.

The incident occurred between 12.20am and 1am.

PC Martin Campbell said: ‘This crime appears to have been carried out in a professional but blatant manner.

‘I am urgently seeking information from people who may have seen the vehicle leaving the area at speed or may have been offered stolen items for sale.’
