A DRINK-DRIVER who was more than twice the legal limit has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Melanie Penny was stopped by the police as she drove a Volkswagen people carrier in Catherington Lane, Waterlooville.

A breathalyser test revealed she 93 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35mg.

Penny, of Kefford Close, Waterlooville, pleaded guilty to drink-driving when she appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. The 35-year-old was fined £165 and told to pay £100 in costs.
