TEENAGE driver Richard Lawrence has been fined after he knocked a cyclist off his bike.

The 18-year-old was driving a Ford Fiesta when he failed to give way at a junction in Crookhorn Lane, Waterlooville, and ended up injuring cyclist William Feltham.

Lawrence, of Zeus Lane, Waterlooville, initially denied the charge.

But he changed his plea to guilty to driving without due care and attention when he appeared at Fareham Magistrates’ Court.

Charges of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to report an accident were dropped after the crown offered no evidence. Lawrence was fined £300 and told to pay £215 costs. Five points were added to his licence.
