A THIEF has been fined after he admitted stealing £50 worth of scrap metal.

Thomas Baker pleaded guilty to taking the metal with the help of an accomplice when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The stolen property belonged to Havant-based engineering company, Aegina Technologies Ltd, and was taken on Sunday, May 22.

The 19-year-old, of Mill Road, Waterlooville, was ordered by the court to pay a total of £550, including £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £15, within two weeks.
