LAGER thief Matthew Mourne has been let off with a conditional discharge.

Mourne pleaded guilty to stealing a can of Stella Artois from One Stop in Hart Plain Avenue, Waterlooville, on March 6.

Mourne, of Boxwood Close, Waterlooville, admitted using threatening behaviour at the store on the same day.

The 28-year-old was given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay £1.57 compensation to the store and £85 costs by Portsmouth magistrates.

He admitted breaching a 15-week suspended sentence imposed for four counts of theft.

However no further action was taken.
