A MAN caught with a Stanley knife in public has been told to do unpaid work.

Adam Andrews, 28, of Tiller Road, Waterlooville, admitted having the knife in Clarendon Road, Southsea. He also admitted causing £260 of damage at St Alban the Martyr Church in Bartons Road, Havant.

Andrews was told to do 180 hours of unpaid work in the next year and pay £260 compensation by Portsmouth magistrates. The knife will be destroyed.
