A JURY has found a man not guilty of raping and sexually assaulting a woman in a unanimous verdict.

Harrison Beattie, 22, of Coulter Road, Waterlooville, had pleaded not guilty to two counts of sexual assault and two counts of rape relating to the same woman in August last year.

He was cleared in June of all four charges following a trial at Portsmouth Crown Court.

The jury took just 15 minutes to reach their unanimous not guilty verdicts on each of the counts.

Mr Beattie would like to add that he was ‘shocked that the case ever came to court.’
