A MAN has been released after being arrested on suspicion of having indecently exposed himself on a beach.

But police are appealing for witnesses after women were approached by the man on Sunday morning.

Police were called at 9.15am on Sunday, because of concerns about the behaviour of a man on Eastney beach.

They arrested a 49 year-old from Hayling Island, on suspicion of an act of outraging public decency.

He has been released with no further action taken against him.

But investigating officer PC David Shaw said: ‘One of the victims has come forward and I would like to thank her for the information she has given us. A possible suspect was arrested. We would still like to talk to the other woman who we believe witnessed what happened. Although reports like this are rare, they can have an impact on the local community. We would urge anyone else who has information to contact police.’
