Detectives have appealed for help in catching an attacker who pounced on a woman in Portsmouth.

Police have revealed that the 27-year-old victim was walking in Burrfields Road, Copnor, at 9am on October 19, when she was approached from behind and assaulted.

She suffered facial injuries and received hospital treatment.

Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously or hanging around the area.

Officers believe that this was an isolated incident and was not a random attack.
